我国大学通识教育的回顾与展望
General Education in Chinese Institutions of Higher Learning:Retrospect and Prospects
【摘要】 通识教育既是一种理念,也是一种实践。从通识教育观念的形成入手,系统论述通识教育自改革开放以来的探索历程。研究发现,以塑造"全人"为鹄的的通识教育并没有摆脱名"扬"实"抑"的命运,究其原因,是通识教育与专业教育之间的尖锐冲突抑制了通识教育的健康成长。这种冲突正是通识教育改革中的主要矛盾,也只有抓住这个主要矛盾,变"通专冲突"为"通专结合",中国大学的通识教育才能找到根本出路。
【Abstract】 General education is both an idea and a practice. This study,based on the evolution of the ideas of general education,and the 40-year-long reform and opening-up in China,illustrates the probes into general education. The authors find that aiming at cultivating "whole persons," institutions of higher learning attach importance to general education in name but neglect it in essence,for the sharp conflicts between general education and professional education hinder the healthy development of general education. These conflicts reflect the major contradictions in the reform of general education,and only by grasping the major contradictions and changing the conflicts between general education and professional education into an integration of the two can China’s colleges and universities find a fundamental outlet for general education.
