【Abstract】 In the Chinese literary narrative from the 20th century to the present, the city and the countryside are not just a pair of rigid regional concepts, but also a pair of cultural concepts that are mutually referred to. They are not only the confrontation in space, but also the game between the two values of the"past"and the"future"in the temporal dimension. The city and the countryside in literature are in polarized imagination.
