基于空气隙棱镜实现布鲁斯特角型偏振器消光比测量

【摘要】 布鲁斯特角型偏振器在高功率激光系统有着重要的应用。为了真实反映布鲁斯特角型偏振器的性能,分析并成功搭建了基于空气隙棱镜的消光比测量系统。采用光强同时测量的方法,测量过程系统起偏器、样品、检偏器方位角固定,引起误差的因素较少。通过限制入射光光束直径和探测器的位置,提高检偏器反射出光方向的偏光性能,提高测试精度;在样品定位的过程中,对光源进行实时监测,降低测量随机误差。理论分析,系统精度越高,系统误差越大。当系统精度为40 d B,系统误差约2%。对一样品进行10次测量,消光比平均值为31.1 d B,系统误差小于1%,随机误差小于1%。

【Abstract】 Brewster angle polarizers have important applications in high power laser systems. To truly reflect the performance of the Brewster angular polarizer, an extinction ratio measurement system based on an air gap prism was analyzed and successfully constructed. The azimuth angles of the polarizer and sample were fixed in the measurement process by using the method of simultaneous measurement of light intensity, and the factors causing errors were reduced. When the diameter of the incident beam and position of the detector were limited, both the polarization performance of the analyzer reflecting the direction of light and the test accuracy were improved. During sample positioning, the light source was monitored in real time to reduce the measurement random error. Theoretical analysis showed that the higher the system accuracy, the greater was the system error. When the system accuracy was 40 dB, the system error was approximately 2%. Ten measurements were conducted on a sample with an average extinction ratio of 31.1 dB, a systematic error of less than 1%, and a random error of less than 1%.
