【Abstract】 Objective To explore the application of quality control circle activities in reducing the incidence rate of hypoglycemia in elderly hospitalized patients with diabetes mellitus. Methods June 2018 was used as the delineation line for the implementation of quality control circle activities in the inpatient department of our hospital, and the patients admitted between January 2018 and January 2019 were divided into before quality control circle activities(from January 2018 to June 2018) and after quality control circle activities(from June 2018 to January 2019) according to the different time before and after implementation. 55 patients in each time period were randomly selected to compare the incidence rate of hypoglycemia and the comprehensive score of patients towards nursing staff within the two time periods. Results After the implementation of quality control circle activities, the incidence rate of hypoglycemia was far lower than that before the implementation(P<0.05), and the comprehensive score of patients towards nursing staff was significantly higher than that before the implementation(P<0.05). Conclusion Quality control circle activities can effectively improve the nursing quality of inpatient department and reduce the incidence rate of hypoglycemia in elderly patients with diabetes mellitus, thus it is worth recommending.
