【Abstract】 Seismic b-value is an important parameter that has been widely used in seismicity research so far. This paper introduces the basic concept, calculation method, physical meaning of b-value and the viewpoint that b-value is significantly different in the tectonic area dominated by different faults, and briefly describes the application of b-value in strong earthquake location determination, earthquake magnitude prediction and strong earthquake transcendence probability prediction, and finally looks forward to the comprehensive study of b-value in the future.更多还原
