【Abstract】 The tree of life is the symbol of the vigorous growth and eternal life of all things in nature.Its position is supreme. The worship of the tree of life by the Yi people has a long history. It is believed that there are immortals or spirits living in the tree of life,and it also has the functions of synaesthesia,synaesthesia and heaven. The tree of life is a very important spiritual object in the mind of the Yi people. It has strong vitality and flourishing leaves. It has become the spiritual sustenance of the Yi people’s family and the symbol of the prosperity of grain,six animals,the reproduction of human beings and the immortality of life. It is the source of life,of all things,of power. The belief of Yi ancestors in the tree of life is based on the similarity law of imitating witchcraft and the contact law of sympathetic witchcraft. In fact,this worship is not only the reproductive worship of the tree of life itself,but also the rising consciousness of life.
