【Abstract】 Side scan sonar( SSS) image is widely used in ocean engineering,marine science,underwater object detection and recognition and other fields. The continuous improvement of the cost-effective of SSS equipment has brought new opportunities to the deeper application of SSS image. This paper summarizes the application areas of SSS image,and provides practical guidance for the further application of this traditional equipment.
