【摘要】 语篇的衔接和连贯无论是在语篇的构建还是在语篇的翻译中都尤为重要,话题链是构建语篇衔接与连贯的一种统摄机制。因此,文章结合汉英两种语言在主语、主题和话题链方面的差异,对柳宗元的《永州韦使君新堂记》及其英译本(罗经国译)进行对比分析。研究表明:《永州韦使君新堂记》的英译文基本忠实于原文,但在话题链的衔接方面需要完善,以保证译文的衔接和连贯,使译文更加忠实于原文,从而提升译文质量。更多还原

【Abstract】 The cohesion and coherence of discourse are vital not only in the construction of discourse, but also in the translation of discourse. Topic chain is a unifying mechanism in constructing cohesion and coherence. Hence based on the difference of Subject, Topic and Topic Chain between Chinese and English, this paper makes a comparative analysis of Shijun Wei’s New Hall in Yongzhou and its English version(translated by Luo Jingguo). The research shows that the English version is almost equivalent to the original text, but the cohesion in Topic Chain need to be modified in order to ensure the cohesion and coherence of the translated text, making the English version more faithful to the original one.
