稀土元素掺杂对钼表面电子功函数的影响
Effects of rare earth doping on surface work function of molybdenum
【摘要】 金属钼(Mo)是一种常见的热电子发射材料,但由于其电子功函数高,导致其电子发射效率较低。利用第一性原理密度泛函的方法研究稀土元素(La~Lu)在Mo表面掺杂后对表面电子功函数的影响,旨在找到最优的掺杂元素。计算结果表明,Eu、Yb、La是3种最优的掺杂元素,分别可以使Mo表面电子功函数降低1.726、1.383和1.28 eV。该研究的开展可以为钼阴极的制备提供理论指导。
【Abstract】 Molybdenum(MO)is a common thermal electron emission material,but its electron emission efficiency is low because of its high electron work function. In this paper,the first principle density functional method is used to study the effects of rare earth element(La ~ Lu)doping on the surface work function of molybdenum,with the objective to find the best doping element. The results show that Eu,Yb,and La are the three optimum doping elements,which reduce the surface electron work function of Mo by 1.726 e V,1.383 eV and 1.28 eV,respectively. This study provide theoretical guide for the preparation of molybdenum cathode.
