【Abstract】 In Systemic Functional Linguistics, evaluation is an important part of the interpersonal meaning. In the English circle at home and abroad, there has been a lot of research on this topic, but unfortunately most attention has been focused on the lexical level with the grammatical level largely ignored. In the Chinese circle, the research on evaluation is hard to find and a big gap is there to be filled. This paper attempts to examine the evaluation and its realization in Chinese in a tentative and nonexhaustive way so as to commemorate my late supervisor Prof. M. A. K. Halliday who always attached great importance to the research on the Chinese language.更多还原
