【Abstract】 By utilizing research methods of literature review and so on, this article studies the reconstruction of female athletes’ identity in social transformation and its influence on development of women’s competitive sports in contemporary China. It claims that "Olympic Glory Plan" intensified the characteristic of female athletes as national heroines, the centralized system generated their identity characteristic of being a role model; the market-oriented economy led to their identity characteristic of being a business star; co-existence of multiple values gave rise to their identity characteristic of new type of family role; the new media era bred their identity characteristic of internet celebrity; the western values brought about their identity characteristic of challenging and risk-taking. In the course of fast social transformation, nation, sports, business and body have mingled together, leading to the complicated and multidimensional changes of female athletes’ identity.更多还原
