大学英语短语动词认知教学探究
A Cognitive Approach to College English Phrasal Verbs Teaching
【摘要】 英语短语动词的语义隐晦性和多义性使之成为大学生词汇习得的瓶颈。可根据认知语言学理论,提出运用图示法和理据分析法对短语动词进行认知解析,先理论导入,结合课文实例阐释,最后将短语动词分为图示类,隐喻式,转喻式以及隐转喻式四类进行归类总结。这种大学英语短语动词认知教学模式可改变教学现状,促进大学生英语短语动词习得。
【Abstract】 The acquisition of English phrasal verbs is a bottleneck for college students owing to the semantic obscurity and polysemy of English phrasal verbs. So this paper explores a cognitive approach to college English phrasal verbs teaching under the framework of cognitive linguistics,taking the phrasal verbs from college English textbooks as examples. It suggests the graphic method and semantic motivation analysis method be adopted in the cognitive teaching of English phrasal verbs. The teaching procedures include the introduction of cognitive theories,the cognitive interpretation of some phrasal verbs from the textbook,and the review of these phrasal verbs by classifying them into four types: the ones shown by image schema,the ones mainly involving metaphorical extension,or mainly metonymic or both. The construction of a cognitive teaching model of college English phrasal verbs aims to change the present situation of phrasal verbs teaching and thus boosting college students’ phrasal verbs acquisition.
