【Abstract】 The critique of capitalist modernity runs through the development of Marxism and The Communist Manifesto is an important work that focuses on Marxist thoughts on modernity. Through disenchantment of and reflections on enlightenment rationality, Marx and Engels criticized the capitalist society and its mode of production politically and economically. By sublating capitalist modernity, they proposed the communist movement with the proletariat as the main force. Being the Marxism in the 21st Century, Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for A New Era is the contemporary discourse in the domain of Marxist thoughts on modernity. It conducts a dialogue with the latter, studies and illustrates The Communist Manifesto, and responds to the universal problems about modernity, showing the right path and direction for the development of socialism with Chinese characteristics for a new era and world socialism.更多还原
