【Abstract】 The patient-doctor communication is one of the sources driving medical development. It also displays the mode of thinking and code of conduct in medical practice. Hermann Boerhaave is acknowledged as the originator of clinical teaching methods. He proposed a patient-oriented clinical medical concept,laid emphasis on the importance of patient-doctor communication, and paid attention to the training of verbal communication abilities as well as non-verbal communication skills while cultivating medical students. Boerhaave’s thought is rooted in the culture of Western medicine,and mainly stemmed from Hippocrates thought, partly from the benevolent spirit and the mainstream empiricism in the Netherlands.To some extent, the patient-doctor communication thought of Boerhaave can provide reference to today’s clinical education.更多还原
