【Abstract】 The detention period can accurately reflect the extent of infringement of personal freedom bypre-trial detention. From the perspective of the principle of proportionality,a study of the period of pre-trialdetention related to 1034 defendants involved in 831 trials suggests that such problems in pre-trial detentionas a smaller proportion of temporary detention,the normality of long-term detention as well as the high occur-rence of pre-trial detention for common crimes.
