【Abstract】 Hydroxyethylating modification is one of important methods to improve the water solubility of chitosan. Hydroxyethyl chitosan is the product derived from the hydroxylation of chitosan,and had been found extensive application in different fields,such as drug synthesis,adsorption materials,drug load and controlled release,antibacterial materials,tissue engineering materials and liquid crystalline polymer,etc. The basic types,manufacture process and applications in relative fields of hydroxyethyl chitosan were summarized. Meanwhile,the developing trend on the study of hydroxyethyl chitosans was also prospected.更多还原
