【Abstract】 This paper conducts a corpus-based research on the omission of similes of the works in Chi neseLiterature(1951-1966),and thus explores the reasons for the strategy employed by the translators.The result shows that the translators of Chinese Literature tend to omit similes that do not conform to the external publicity demand of new China,that are strongly characterized by Han cultures,that contain redundant information and that are considered to be trite similes.And the employment of omission in the process of translation is mainly related to social and historical background,aesthetic difference between English and Chinese,policies and readership.更多还原
