【Abstract】 The concern for "political correctness" in American society first began in 1960s.After several decades,it has permeated all aspects of American social life and evolved into a cultural phenomenon in public life where respect is accorded to ethnic minorities,women,LGBT groups,different religious believers and other groups.In the 2016 U.S.presidential election,"political correctness"was severely attacked by Donald Trump and other candidates,and "anti-political correctness" activities in American society are apparently on the rise.This trend shows that the importance and influence of "political correctness" in American society is seriously weakened because of continuing political decay,shifts in the center of political gravity,and the overuse and abuse of "political correctness" in recent years.Given the Trump presidency and the changes in American political landscape,"political correctness" in American society will likely face more fierce challenges.更多还原
