【摘要】 《西厢记》英译本研究中长期存在忽视版本研究的问题,对源语文本和目的语文本进行版本分类有其必要性,提出了根据源语文本的版本来对《西厢记》英译本进行分类整理的可能性,认为:基于同一源文本的复译研究才能理清初译本和复译本之间的渊源,而这也有利于研究各个译本之间的演进关系。此外,还研究了与《西厢记》的初译本有关的文献,指出乔治·坎德林在《中国小说》中对《西厢记》的译介不能算作是《西厢记》的初译本。更多还原

【Abstract】 The edition study on Wang Shi Fu’s The Romance of the Western Chamber and its various English versions has long been neglected. In this paper,the author analyzes the necessity to study on the editions of the source text as well as those of the target text,and points out the possibility to classify the English editions of The Romance of the Western Chamber according to their source text’s editions.The author believes that the study on the relations between the first edition and its retranslations can be realized only when they are based on the same edition of the same source text. In addition,the author clarifies a popular misunderstanding on the earliest English version of The Romance of the Western Chamber,as some scholars claim that George T.Candlin’s The Chinese Fiction in 1898 contains the earliest translation of some scenes in The Romance of the Western Chamber.With access to the original text of Chinese Fiction,the author discovers that the author did not translate any scene of The Romance of the Western Chamber.更多还原
