【Abstract】 The Backbone Transportation System(BTS) composed of highways and rail transit is a cornerstone for the development of large cities and regional integration. Taking Wuhan City as an example, this paper explores the relationship between the BTS and the urban spatial pattern by analyzing the natural geographical features and urban spatial evolution of Wuhan. The paper proposes a development strategy for the BTS that can be adapted to the development of mega cities from the perspective of regional coordination: firstly,insisting on the interactive development of urban spatial layout and traffic corridor; secondly, insisting on a composite traffic corridor layout of “multiple highways and multiple rail transit tracks”; thirdly,insisting on traffic organization under a multi-modal rail transit system.更多还原
