行波管非线性失真研究
Impact of Geometry on Nonlinear Distortion of Traveling Wave Tube: A Simulation Study
【摘要】 主要探究了行波管的各项结构参数对于非线性失真的影响。利用两个L波段和K波段的模拟样管进行了重复仿真试验,从而验证了某些规律的一致性。由仿真结果可知,输入段螺距主要决定增益,对其他参数的影响不大。相速改善段和输出段的螺距主要影响饱和AM/PM和饱和相移。验证了K波段下螺径变化与L波段下行波管特性变化的一致性。在两种输出段结构下,证明了输出渐变段DVT段的重要性,从而给以后的行波管设计提供了一定的指导意义。
【Abstract】 Herein,we reported the MTSS simulation of the impact of the geometry of slow wave structure( SWS),including the radius( rn,n = 1,2,3) and helix pitch( pn) of each section,on the nonlinear distortion of traveling wave tube( TWT) in L-band and K-band. The simulated results show that the SWS structure considerably affects the non-linear distortion,in consistent with TWT characteristics. For example,p1 of the input section strongly affects the TWT gain only; p2 has a major impact on the AM/PM conversion,i. e. the larger the p2,the better the AM/PM conversion; and as p3 decreases,the saturated phase-shift decreases. The decrease of rnreduces the AM/PM conversion and saturated phase-shift in K-band. Besides,the dynamic velocity taper strongly affects the electronic efficiency and output power in L-band. As the radius increases,the nonlinear distortion becomes worse,accompanied by an increase of the gain.
