【Abstract】 Fractures involving the low lumbar spine are relatively infrequent compared to those occurring at the thoracolumbar junction, because of the different structure characteristics. But the fractures always bring severe damage, often complicating with nerve injury. They are many controversy in treatment of low lumbar fractures nowadays, especially for burst fractures, but some are changing along with deep understanding of the fracture mechanism, and development of surgical technique.
