【Abstract】 The publishing of the punctuated texts of the "Twenty-Four Histories"and the Draft of Qing History is among the greatest achievements made in China’s ancient classic collation in the 20^th Century,and is also one of the most successful practices in the development of ancient philology. The paper describes the arduous process of publishing the punctuated texts of the"Twenty-Four Histories"and the Draft of Qing History,including from proposing to initiation,from scattered collation and punctuation to centralized collation and punctuation,from interrupt by the Cultural Revolution to restoration of collation and punctuation,and finally completion of all collation and punctuation work. What ’s more,the paper demonstrates the great achievement scored by the punctuated texts of Zhonghua Book Company as shown by their content value,collating and punctuating style, selection of versions, difficulties in collating, editing and punctuating,and solutions. These are the enduring contributions of the pioneers who committed themselves to collating ancient classics.更多还原
