【Abstract】 Landscape ecology is a new discipline which integrates geography, ecology, system theory and cybernetics, and so on. It provides a new theory and method for urban environment design. Cultural heritage conservation and urban design are the key to the sustainable development of the city. The article analyzes the city’s cultural heritage conservation system in the views of landscape ecology and its inspiration and application in urban design, furthermore, discusses the relationship between cultural heritage conversation and urban design and proposes that cultural heritage is a special kind of urban plaques and urban design should be based on cultural heritage conservation.
