【摘要】 椅子,在人造器物的世界中占据着非常特殊的地位,椅子的变化与发展也反映了人类观念与技术的进步。在西方工业设计史上,一把把"名垂青史"的椅子,可以说是美学企图、观念意识与工业技术的集合。翻开设计的历史,许多人不禁会问,为何设计师都要设计一把椅子呢?其实这个问题本身并不完美,因为许多设计师不仅设计了椅子,也设计了人造世界中的其他器物。可椅子确实又有着与茶几、手表、台灯、饮料瓶、火车头等其他器物的不同之处,这也是造就它在人类文明史与工业设计史上具有特殊地位的原因。总的来看,椅子作为人类世界中最不受空间外在条件限制的物品之一,在漫长的时间跨度中演化出了阶层、情感、文化、观念的象征意涵,成就了它有别于其他器物的特殊之处。不同时代所承载的审美价值、观念意识、材质组合所赋予的视觉语汇,丰富了设计的内涵与责任,也让椅子有可能成为了设计世界的缩影。更多还原

【Abstract】 "Chair"has laid its special status in the artifact history since the ancient times. The change of artistic representation and practical functions in chairs also are the reflection of economic and technical development in human society. In the western industrial design history, almost all those famous chairs could be viewed as the integration of aesthetic intention, ethical consciousness and material technology. Reviewing the design history, many people cannot help asking a question: why so many prestigious designers all like design chairs? Actually, this is not a flawless question. Because the designers not only made chairs, but they also made numerous of other objects in artificial producing world. Comparing with other objects such as tea tables, watches, desk lamps, beverage bottles and locomotives; the chair, however, does has many different meanings in the ideology category of political system, economy circumstance, race and culture. These special features in chair also are the reasons for its special status. In general, the chair, as one of most approachable artifact in any given context of time and space, has developed its specific symbolic meaning relating to social class, emotion, culture and philosophic concept in the long period of human history. Under the influence of aesthetic preference, ethic consciousness and material technology in different stage of civilization, the artistic visual language among chairs has enriched the idea of design with more connotation and responsibility.
