【Abstract】 The construction of rural boarding schools is more inclined to instrumental reason. However, this situation will affect the intrinsic value of rural boarding schools. Therefore, in order to make full use of the intrinsic value of rural boarding schools, we should adjust the development direction of rural boarding schools in order to advocate quality education and pay attention to children’s all-round development. Specifically, rural boarding schools should take ideas as the forerunner, education as the core, teachers as fundamental, management as emphasis, system as safeguard, and ultimately achieve unity of value rationality and instrumental reason.
