加州大学洛杉矶分校顶点课程的机械工程实验教学浅析
Thinking on Experimental Teaching of Mechanical Engineering Based on UCLA’s Capstone Course
【摘要】 顶点课程是美国高校工程类专业面向大学四年级开设的综合性实践课程,课程一般以面向工程实际的设计需求作为实例,将本科阶段不同学科的知识点进行整合,培养学生的创新、实践、团队协作等综合能力;以加州大学洛杉矶分校(UCLA)机械工程系的顶点课程为例,介绍了2016年度该课程的设计需求及实施过程;在与国内高校机械工程专业实验课程特点的对比基础上,通过分析UCLA顶点课程的教学内容及组织方式,从学生综合能力的培养、开放性实验室建设、实验教学资源的整合等三个方面,对机械工程实验教学的课程建设进行了讨论。
【Abstract】 The Capstone Course, offered by the engineering department of American universities, is a comprehensive practical course for senior students. By using actual engineering design requirements, it integrates the knowledge of different disciplines and develops the abilities of creation, practice and cooperation for students. This paper introduced the design requirements and implementation process of the 2016 capstone course offered by the Mechanical Engineering Department at University of California Los Angeles. Based on the comparison with the characteristics of domestic experimental courses and the analysis for teaching content and organization of the UCLA ’ s Capstone Course, the methods for experimental course construction of mechanical engineering were discussed from the following three aspects:comprehensive abilities development for students, open laboratory construction and experimental resource integration.
