近期在湖北省陆水水库进行野外调查时发现了在中国尚未报道的蒙氏长孢藻Dolichospermum mendotae(Trelease)Wacklin,et al.2009。文章详尽地描述了该种的特征,并对其16S r RNA基因测序分析表明,与日本、西班牙、捷克等地区所得到的该种的序列相似度很高,显示出来自不同地区的蒙氏长孢藻在分子系统进化树上聚为一支。最后通过毒素分子检测和生物试验显示分离于陆水水库的三株蒙氏长孢藻不产神经毒素。

As a large group of water bloom forming cyanobacteria, Dolichospermum genus has been attracted more attention and its taxonomic status and biological characteristics were significantly improved.
