The influence of the melt temperature on the microstructure and mechanical properties of 2024 aluminum alloy was studied. The results show that the increase of melt temperature can significantly reduce the grain size of the alloy, change its crystal morphology, and improve its micro-hardness, tensile strength, yield strength and elongation.
