The 6082-T6 aluminum plates with thickness of 5 mm were welded by friction stir welding(FSW) with different welding speeds, and the influence of welding speed on the macro-morphology, microstructure and mechanical properties of the joints was investigated. The results show that under the rotational rate of 1200 r/min, the joints obtained with welding speeds of 40-200 mm/min are good.
