【Abstract】 Psychological essentialism is a belief that people think different categories have underlying invisible essences. This paper describes the basic characteristics of the development and changes of psychological essentialism theory on race, nationality, gender and other social categories, and introduces some commonly-used paradigms on measurement as well. Future researches in this field are needed to explore the specific factors affecting the development of psychological essentialism, discover the internal mechanism of evolution on psychological essentialism, and discuss the uniqueness of its development under China cultural context.更多还原
