【摘要】 本文以评价性副词为研究对象,根据其作外加语时所能出现的位置数量和句法语境数量,提出外加语潜势假说,认为英语评价性副词并非全部都是句法功能单一的外加语,确切地说它们仅是具有充当外加语的潜势。潜势具有等级性,外加语潜势强的评价性副词在小句中位置灵活,受句法语境限制小,产生歧义的情况少,而潜势弱的评价性副词在小句中可出现的位置数量少,受句法和语义语境限制多,强行出现在某些位置时有歧义现象,语料检索显示这类词出现在外加语非标记位置的例子最多。更多还原

【Abstract】 In this paper,evaluative adverbs are examined for their abilities to be disjuncts. According to the sum of positions and syntactic contexts that allow them to appear,a disjunct potential hypothesis is proposed,which claims that evaluative adverbs are not mono-function disjunct adverbs but adverbs with disjunct potential. Those with strong disjunct potentials can appear at more clausal positions with the least syntactic and semantic restrictions and ambiguity while those with weaker potentials are restricted at certain positions with stricter syntactic and semantic contexts. When the low disjunct potential evaluative adverbs appear at hostile positions there will be ambiguity. In fact,data show that there are more examples of them appearing at unmarked positions.更多还原
