【Abstract】 The paper introduced the multi-level converter of the high-power mine hoist. First, it analyzed and contrasted the advantages and disadvantages of the main multi-level converters such as 3L-NPC, CHB and 5L-ANPC while they were applied to the mine hoist, and then introduced a new-type multi-level converter that was a modular multi-level converter(MMC).
