【摘要】 以新加坡总理李显龙在其父亲李光耀葬礼当日发布的汉英双语悼词为语料展开分析,揭示了悼词在双语乃至多语社会语境中的翻译策略:译者翻译时应该选择能真正表达"所指意义(referential meaning)"的语词;秉持回译及"名从主人"的音译原则;译文应真实再现和补偿源语作者采用的修辞手段;充分认识双语语境中翻译即写作的特点。文章希望上述翻译策略能对从事母语译入外语的中国译者有所启示和裨益。更多还原

【Abstract】 Taking the eulogy composed by Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at his father Lee Kuan Yew’s funeral as corpus for a case study,this paper attempts to analyze the tactics applied in translation in a bilingual or multi-lingual social context,aiming to share the enlightenment with translators as follows:in the target language the words with the same"referential meanings"as those in the source language should be selected;back-translation and the principle of"transliterating in accordance with the original names or accepted versions"in transliteration should be adhered to;reproduction of the rhetorical devices or compensation for them should be realized while handling the figurative language source text;the practice of"translation as writing"should be duly recognized and implemented.Hopefully,the enlightenment may benefit translators especially those involved in translating from their native language into foreign languages.更多还原
