【Abstract】 This article narrate the related basic theory on the method of model test, and the normal steps of research a self-elevating platform on quay mooring through that model testmethod,and then,as a example by a actual self-elevating platform on quay mooring project which constructed in wai gao qiao ship yard, the article try to research the platform motions & mooring line tensions when the jackup is mooring on quay with the environmental loadings through the model test in the basin.
