【Abstract】 Kamala Markandaya is an outstanding contemporary Indian-British immigrant female writer. She pays close attention to the living conditions of traditional women in India. Meanwhile,she also has deep understanding of Indian traditional culture and western modern culture. Her first novel Nectar in a Sieve vividly displays the struggling and fighting experience of Indian women under two oppressions,which are patriarchal culture and western colonial culture. The novel is interpreted by post-colonial feminism and the new image of strong and independent women are analyzed. How Indian women break Indian traditions,resist the western colonial domination under the two oppressions are disclosed.更多还原
