【Abstract】 Based on extra channel theory,Chinese medicine master ZHU Liangchun established the principle of"tonifying kidney,strengthening Du meridian,eliminating Bi and dredging channels"to treat Bi-syndrome. The origin development of this principle was summarized into "originating from Inner Canon of Huangdi and Classic on Medical Problems,learning from Li Shizhen,and following Ye Tianshi; tonifying kidney and Du meridian are as the root,dredging the meridians for the manifestation". As for etiology and pathogenesis,he emphasized body-resistance weakened while pathogenic factors prevailing,taking Du meridian as the entry point,and building the layering theory of"kidney-Du meridian-channels". It means that,the root cause is in kidney and Du meridian,including liver and kidney deficiency and / or Yang deficiency in kidney and Du meridian,while the manifestation is in channels,which refers to stagnation of channels and the malnutrition of bones and tendons. In treatment,ZHU Liangchun promoted the principle of treating Bi-syndrome with tonifying kidney,strengthening Du meridian,eliminating Bi and dredging channels.
