【Abstract】 ‘Ningqie No. 5’ is a new eggplant F₁ hybrid developed by crossing inbred line ‘S147-6-7-4-2-1’ as female parent and inbred line‘SHG-5-2-1-4-1’ as male parent. The plant grows vigorously and mid-early maturity. Its fruit is atropurpureus with long oval shape. The average single fruit weight is 170 g. It has good commercial character, strong resistance, heat and strong drought resistance.‘Ningqie No. 5’ per 667 m² yield is about 5 000 kg in spring cultivation and around 3 500 kg in autumn cultivation.
