【Abstract】 And the Mountains Echoed is the third master piece of Khaled Hosseini,an Afghanistan American writer,whose previous novels The Kite Runner and A Thousand Splendid Suns were listed on the top of best sellers in the USA. The novel tells the story of separations and reunions of three generations going through poverty and wars. In the novel,Hosseini reveals to readers not only family ethical tragedies but also love stories among common people. The novel is filled with pain and sadness as well as hopeful love. Through the novel Hosseini expresses his deep concern about family ethical predicament in Afghanistan and his firm faith in the power of love and eternal domestic affection.
