【Abstract】 Matrix metalloproteinases( MMPs) are a group of important enzymes degrading extracellular matrix. It has been found that MMPs play important roles in the development of periapical lesions. The major MMPs in periapical tissues of periapical periodontitis are MMP- 1,- 2,- 8,- 9 and MMP- 13. This paper reviews the roles of MMPs,particularly MMP- 1,- 2,- 8,- 9 and MMP- 13,in the pathogenesis of periapical lesions.更多还原
