Clinical Effect and the Related Complications of Microvascular Decompression Surgery for Hemifacial Spasm Through the Suboccipital Retrosigmoid Approach
【Abstract】 Objective To discuss the clinical effect and the related complications of microvascular decompression surgery( MVD) for hemifacial spasm( HFS) through the suboccipital retrosigmoid approach. Methods A total of 42 cases of HFS patients were selected from April 2013 to February 2015 in Weifang Medical University, all patients were treated with MVD through the suboccipital retrosigmoid approach. The treatment effect and complications were observed. Results After MVD,most of patients were cured, there was no hearing loss, facial paralysis, cerebellar hemisphere injury or bleeding happening. Conclusion MVD through the suboccipital retrosigmoid approach has an obviously clinical effect in treating HFS,but continuous improve the operation details and application of new microscope technology can prevent the complications.
