【Abstract】 In The Grass is Singing,Doris Lessing has created a heroine named Mary Turner,who is living a closed life,with parochial view and cannot break through the social constraint and oppression. Through her short life,her marriage and social activity,Lessing reveals the decisive influence of the outside oppression,ideological bias and blindness due to the lacking of individual self- consciousness on female’s destiny,primarily investigated the causes of female ’s miserable life,thus emphasizes the importance for females to keep their independent personality and to establish spiritual self- consciousness.更多还原
