The Perspective Shift of Economic Participation and Labor Relations—From Webb couple, Marshall to Thomas Janoski
【Abstract】 This article uses the concept of Economic Participation to sort out the historical process of labor relations in Western countries. The author argues that since Sidney Webb & Betrice Webb put forward Industrial Democracy from a Unionism perspective, it shows a relatively narrow vision and obvious ideological features. The "Industrial Citizenship" concept put forward by T.H Marshall does not dominate in his famous citizenship system; while Thomas Janoski uses Participatory Rights that is equivalent of Right-Duty to extend Sidney Webb & Betrice Webb’s industrial democracy and make up for the deficiencies of Marshall’s citizenship rights thinking.
