【Abstract】 The beginning of a discipline is based on the three conditions of maturity,independence and sustainability. The maturity lies in the increasingly abundant research results,academic activities,and the developing scale of academic journals and organizations. The independence lies in its special study object,unique research methods,self-contained system,and distinctive relationships to other disciplines,while the strategic layout of national continuing education and the construction of learning society provide sustainable energy to continuing education discipline.
