A red-emitting phosphor LiZnPO4:Eu3+ for white light-emitting diodes(LEDs) was prepared via a high-temperature solid-state reaction. The effects of Eu3+-doped content, co-doped Gd3+, and Si O2 on the emission of Li Zn PO4:Eu3+ were investigated, respectively. The emission of the phosphor at 593 nm is dominant, which corresponds to the 5D0→7F1 transition of Eu3+ excited at 395 nm. The excitation spectrum consists of a broad band extending from 200 nm to 280 nm and a series of sharp peaks extending 310–500 nm...
