【Abstract】 In Marco Polo, based on his interest in the oriental culture and a large number of real historical materials, Shklovsky takes Marco Polo ’s life experiences and the Silk Road culture as the starting point, combines reality recording with comments and annotation, and describes Marco Polo ’s personal experiences and the oriental culture in detail. He connects personal biography with human history by means of montage and delay interpenetration technique, interprets the Silk Road and human development through the artistic means of mixing repetition and metaphor together, and conveys the author’s defamiliarized imagination about the Silk Road and his metaphorical thinking about human history. Shklovsky’s defamiliarized narrative method undoubtedly endows the novel with artistry, interestingness, and readability, which sets it apart from many other similar works.更多还原
