上海光源超导波荡器磁体5周期模型机的研制

【摘要】 上海光源正在研制一台低温超导波荡器模型机,周期数50,周期长度16mm,磁间隙8mm,目标峰值磁场0.88T。首先研制了一台5周期超导波荡器磁体模型机进行技术可行性研究。磁体绕组采用Nb Ti超导线,骨架加工采用电工纯铁。使用传导冷却的测试装置进行了磁体降温、通电与磁场测量。磁体经过两次失超之后达到设计电流值387A。达到的最大电流为433A。当磁体稳定运行在400A时,测得磁场峰值为0.93T。研究结果表明已有的超导磁体关键技术与工艺能够满足50周期超导波荡器模型机的研制需求。

【Abstract】 A low- temperature superconducting planar undulator is under development at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility( SSRF). The undulator prototype has 50 periods with a period length of 16 mm and a gap of 8mm. The peak field is targeted to be 0. 88 T. A 5- period magnet was designed and built for feasibility study. The short mockup magnet is composed of Nb Ti /Cu winding and low carbon steel former and was tested in a vertical cryocooler- cooled cryostat. The nominal current of 387 A was reached after 2 quenches and the maximum current of 433. 2 A was achieved. The magnetic field profile was measured and a peak field of 0. 93 T was obtained when stably operating at 400 A. Test results indicated that superconducting magnet techniques in the SSRF are feasible for the 50- period undulator prototype.
