【摘要】 本文基于自建的研究生英语写作学习者语料库,采用语料库的中介语对比研究方法,通过与英国国家语料库(BNC)(核心书面语部分)和英国学生写作语料库(BAWE)(母语为英语的学生作文部分)对比分析,试图寻找研究生英文写作中的形容词用法特点。研究发现,非英语专业研究生已经掌握常用形容词的基本用法,但是在写作中,词语种类和使用方法都比较单一,语义类型大多与主题相关;形容词的搭配和类联接用法不够多样化,且与英语母语使用者在具体用法上有所差异,存在使用过度或不足的现象;比较倾向简单、直接的用法和汉语有对应结构或语义的用法。本研究希望通过高频形容词的研究,揭示学习者英语形容词的使用特征,探索学习者写作中词汇使用特点;从词汇学习出发,为英语写作教学提供参考。更多还原

【Abstract】 This study investigates Chinese EFL learners’ use of adjectives in English writing by Contrastive Interlanguage Analysis through the use of a self-compiled corpus of texts written by Chinese non-English major postgraduates and two reference corpora: BNC and BAWE. The results show that, although Chinese advanced EFL learners have generally mastered the usage of adjectives, some limitations exist in their writing. Firstly, the lexical richness is restricted and the main semantic category of the adjectives is themerelated; secondly, the collocations and colligations of the adjectives they use lack diversity and are different from those by native English-speaking users; in other words, Chinese students overuse or underuse some collocations and colligations. By analyzing high-frequency adjectives, we intend to gain a better understanding of Chinese learners’ lexical use in EFL writing. The implications for understanding Chinese EFL learners’ lexical development in academic writing as well as for improving writing pedagogy are also discussed.更多还原
