Investigation on the effect of exposure to perfluorinated compounds in drinking water on pregnancy outcome
【Abstract】 Objective: To understand the correlation between exposure to perfluorinated compounds through drinking water and adverse pregnancy outcome of pregnant women, provide reference for reproductive health and maternal and child health care. Methods: A questionnaire survey was performed, the pregnant women receiving prenatal examination in Prenatal Diagnosis Center of a hospital in Guiyang city were selected, the related information about exposure to perfluorinated compounds through drinking water during pregnancy and pregnancy outcome was collected. Results: There was statistically significant difference in maternal adverse pregnancy outcome between the pregnant women drinking tap water and the pregnant women not drinking tap water( P < 0. 05); there was no statistically significant difference in maternal adverse pregnancy outcome between the pregnant women drinking purified water, bottled water, and barrelled water and the pregnant women not drinking purified water, bottled water, and barrelled water( P > 0. 05). Conclusion: In order to reduce the incidence rate of adverse pregnancy outcome, pregnant women should pay attention to safety of drinking water, while the relevant departments should strengthen food safety management, pay attention to the risk of perfluorinated compounds, and avoid contact with perfluorinated compounds as much as possible.
