【Abstract】 The study concerns itself with Wendy Wasserstein in the comic mode. In the light of the idea of the comic spirit and the playwright’s own interpretation of the genre,the paper contends that Wasserstein’s major comic works vibrate with the comic spirit of criticism,carnival and optimism.
